According to Apolitical, "the list honors and celebrates women and men making the world more equitable, whether they exert their influence through policymaking, research, advocacy or however else."

In addition to leading the Women in Public Service Project, Young聽has advocated for and published on the role girls and women play in political, social and economic development. She has trained women in advocacy skills, how to build a network, and management skills. She has also worked 鈥渙n the ground鈥 with private sector and public service actors on issues of women鈥檚 entrepreneurship including tools to ensure access to finance.
