AfPak File: The First 100 Days: Reviewing The Taliban's Record On Social Policy

December 3, 202145:24

It's been more than 100 days since the Taliban took power. In the second episode of the special series on this Taliban milestone, we focus on the Taliban government's social policies--with particular emphasis on women, education, and human rights.

To this point, the Taliban has not allowed most older girls to return to school, and many women continue to be barred from working.

What have the Taliban done so far on social policy? What does their performance so far tell us about their priorities? Is there any indication that they have developed a plan or strategy?

These questions and more are addressed by , an Afghan women's rights activist; , Al Jazeera's online correspondent for Afghanistan; and , senior journalist with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Afghanistan service, locally known as Radio Azadi.

, media manager for RFE/RL鈥檚 in Washington, moderates the debate.
