Guadalupe Correa-Cabrera, Class of 2016

Global Fellow and Former Public Policy Fellow,聽Guadalupe Correa-Cabrera, recently published her new book, Los Zetas Inc.: Criminal Corporations, Energy, and Civil War in Mexico (UT Press, 2017). 聽Dr. Correa-Cabrera argues in the book that the Mexican Zetas Cartel effectively constitutes a transnational corporation and proposes a new theoretical framework for understanding the emerging actors, business structures, and economic implications of organized crime in Mexico. Dr. Correa-Cabrera (Ph.D. in Political Science, The New School for Social Research) is Associate Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University. Her areas of expertise are Mexico-U.S. relations, organized crime, immigration, border security, and human trafficking.聽She was recently the Principal Investigator of a research grant to study organized crime and trafficking in persons in Central America and along Mexico鈥檚 eastern migration routes, supported by the Department of State鈥檚 Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. She is now working on a project to analyze all aspects of Mexican undocumented immigration in the United States.
