Shocking revelations in the press earlier this year implicated senior Honduran police officials of the murder and cover up of the country’s former drug czar and his deputy. ÌýIn light of these revelations, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández named a special commission, integrated by members of the Civil Society and government officials, to purge the police of alleged criminals and propose reforms of the institution. ÌýThe Special Commission has been operating for barely two months and has already suspended and recommended for dismissal dozens of top police officials.ÌýÌý
