Full Biography

Commander William C. Albright is a native of Valdez, Alaska and a 2005 graduate from the California Maritime Academy (CMA), earning a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and a Third Mate of unlimited tonnage Coast Guard credential. Upon graduation from the Maritime Academy, he received his commission to the U.S. Coast Guard under the Maritime Academy Graduate Program (MARGRAD). In 2012, he was awarded a master鈥檚 degree in business administration from Trident University International, majoring in Strategic Military Leadership. 

Previous Operations Ashore assignments include Commanding Officer Marine Safety Unit Huntington West Virginia; Chief of the Inspections Division at Activities Europe, The Netherlands; Waterways Management Marine Industry Training and internship with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington D.C. and Tesoro Alaska in Kenai, Alaska; Marine Safety Detachment Supervisor, Homer, Alaska; Senior Investigations Officer at Sector Anchorage, Alaska; Marine Inspector and Search and Rescue Command Duty Officer at Sector San Francisco, California. 

Staff assignments include his current position as Deputy Chief, office of Polar Coordination in Washington D.C.; Program Manager in the office of Waterways Management, and team member of the 26th Commandants Transition Team at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C.; Ninth Coast Guard District Waterways Management, Maritime Homeland Security watch stander and Aide to the Ninth District Commander in Cleveland, Ohio. 

CDR Albright鈥檚 personal awards include a two Meritorious Service Medals with operational distinguishing device, four Coast Guard Commendation Medals with operational distinguishing device, an Army Achievement Medal, the Commandant鈥檚 Letter of Commendation and several unit and service awards. He is authorized to wear the Marine Inspections Insignia.
