Full Biography

Faria Nasruddin is an associate at the Middle East Program. In this role, she leads the Middle East Women鈥檚 Initiative. She is an experienced researcher and policy analyst focusing on women & gender issues, namely UNSCR 1325/the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda, women鈥檚 political and economic participation, and gender-based violence. She is currently working on projects about women in Afghanistan and Israel/Palestine.  

Previously, Nasruddin served as the programs & events manager at the Middle East Institute, where she coordinated Track II dialogues, among other responsibilities. She was also a consultant with the Overseas Development Institute, a London-based think tank, where she developed a landmark report and case studies on gender norm change using broadcast media. She holds an MA in Middle Eastern studies from Harvard University and a BA in history from Bowdoin College. She is fluent in Portuguese, proficient in Arabic, and is learning French.
